In house, sensible
On ice, indispensable
Meadows, reprehensible

Broom Of The Cowdenknowes
By Anonymous
submitted by Andy MacKinnon
How blithe each morn was I tae see
My lass came o'er the hill
She tripped the burn and ran tae me
I met her wi' good will
CHORUS
Oh the broom, the bonnie, bonnie broom
The broom o' the cowdenknowes
Fain would I be in my own country
Herding my father's ewes
Hard fate that I should banished be
Gone way o'er hill and moor
Because I loved the fairest lass
That ever yet was born
CHORUS
Oh the broom, the bonnie, bonnie broom
The broom o' the cowdenknowes
Fain would I be in my own country
Herding my father's ewes
Farewell, ye cowdenknowes, farewell
Farewell all pleasures there
To wander by her side again
Is all I crave or care
CHORUS
Oh the broom, the bonnie, bonnie broom
The broom o' the cowdenknowes
Fain would I be in my own country
Herding my father's ewes

Broom Poem by Barb Sawatsky
I wandered lonely a a loon
Determination in my eye
When all at once I saw Scotch broom
Along the lake, beneath the sky
Flowering and dancing in the gloom
And to myself I muttered, "DIE!"
Determination filled our souls
As Moralea with frenzied company
Fairly flew down yonder slipper hill
To tackle and to kill
The yellow scourge with glee
-William Broomsworth

Broom Poetry from Jeremy Arney
Yesterday upon the stair I met a broom which wasn't there
it wasn't there again today
Oh how I wish that broom would go away.
it wasn't there again today
Oh how I wish that broom would go away.
Broom Poem by Herbert Moore
Amazing Broom
How green its bush
For greens like us to see
Amazing Broom
How long we’ll push
To sweep our meadows free
How green its bush
For greens like us to see
Amazing Broom
How long we’ll push
To sweep our meadows free
